Hierarchical Maintenance Specifications for Screw Air Compressors
May 05 , 2026

Many people are no strangers to screw compressors. While their procurement costs are relatively high, their maintenance expenses are also considerable. Proper and appropriate maintenance practices can effectively extend the service life of screw compressors, bringing significant benefits to users. As sophisticated equipment, screw air compressors require standardized maintenance, which is generally divided into four phases: daily maintenance, monthly maintenance, quarterly maintenance and annual maintenance.

1. Daily Maintenance

Maintenance items: Check the oil level, inspect the air filter and coolant liquid level, and examine hoses and all pipe fittings for leakage. Check whether wearing parts have reached their replacement cycle and shut down the equipment for replacement when necessary. Monitor the discharge temperature of the main unit; clean the oil cooler and inspect the separator pressure differential if the temperature reaches or approaches the warning threshold. Shut down the machine and replace the separator core when the pressure differential reaches 0.6 bar or above (limit value: 1 bar) or when the pressure differential begins to decline.

2. Monthly Maintenance

Maintenance items: Inspect and clean the cooler if necessary; check and fasten all electrical wire connections; examine the contacts of AC contactors; remove dust from the motor air inlet and shell surface; clean the oil return filter; verify that the air compressor settings are consistent with actual operating parameters.

3. Quarterly Maintenance

Maintenance items: Clean the main motor and fan motor; replace the oil filter element; thoroughly clean the cooler; inspect the minimum pressure valve and safety valve; calibrate and check all sensors.

4. Annual Maintenance

Maintenance items: Replace lubricating oil and oil-gas separator filter elements; renew the air filter and oil filter; calibrate safety valves; inspect elastic couplings and cooling fans; clean automatic drain valves; replenish or replace motor grease.

Daily maintenance and repair records of screw air compressors can be compiled regularly or irregularly, or updated immediately after each maintenance operation. Accurate maintenance records facilitate timely fault analysis and troubleshooting in the event of equipment failure. Key record contents include inspection, cleaning, adjustment, fluid refilling, part replacement and corresponding operation time. Strict implementation of maintenance work in the four cycles can greatly prolong the service life of screw air compressors.
